Zoltan Bickel, Supermobile with LTE Turbo-Internet
“LTE is the new super-mobile network,” says Zoltan Bickel, LTE Director for Vodafone Germany.
“LTE operates at a lower frequency, offering a larger reach. What applications are possible over this massive bandwith have the potential to change people’s lives.”
In Japan, your mobile can be used to improve your golf swing, to calculate how many steps you take in a day. It’s an affordable concierge provider to over 4M. Mobile phones even act as one’s pass on what is arguably the world’s most-sophisticated rail network.
At McDonald’s, not only may you pay with your phone, you may also redeem coupons based upon your purchase history at the register.
Vodafone Germany, Director LTE
Vodafone Germany was the first operator in Europe commercially launching a LTE service based on the “digital dividend” spectrum. We are totally committed to cover all remaining broadband white spots in rural areas and provide supermobile products to all our customers. Since the launch in December 2010 we rolled out LTE to a footprint covering approx. 3 mio. households.
In addition we set up LTE pilots in Berlin.
Zoltan returned to Germany in July 2010 fascinated by the great opportunity to bring the 4th mobile generation to live.
Before that Zoltan was always responsible for marketing fixed broadband products. He was product marketing director at Vodafones German fixed boradband business (former Arcor) and then run the marketing for fixed and converged services for business customers in the global Vodafone headquarter in London.
