Native Apps Or Mobile Web – What Will Rule Our Mobile Devices?

When it comes to native apps versus mobile web the question is not what we prefer, but rather what is available. The answer; however, can be found in the outcome, or reality, that has been created in the battle between native apps and mobile web.feature-anywhere

Native apps are the preferred choice, but consist of too many problems along the way. Website owners who go through the trouble of designing and developing a native app don’t even have the guarantee that their app will be approved by app store gatekeepers, such as Apple. Conversely, those who do get approved and launch may not be able to afford the time, effort and expenses that goes along with maintaining and fixing any problems that may arise in the native app. In the end, if the problem takes too long to fix, they may just lose their audience.

When the option of creating a native app goes out the window, website owners turn to using mobile web. In this case, they usually do one of three things: do nothing, which leaves users struggling when using their website on mobile devices; create a dedicated mobile website; or use responsive design.

Whatever path a website owner chooses to take, the reality is that the trend has become one of moving from native apps towards the mobile web; a trend I believe will keep growing. With this trend in mind, the main elements missing are tools to help website owners in the mobile web – a need Brow.si seems to have been the first to notice and is aiming to fill.

Brow.si enables website owners to easily customize the Brow.si toolbar to mimic their website’s look and feel, ultimately optimizing the mobile browsing experience for their users.

Implementing Brow.si allows site owners to reap the benefits of higher monetization thanks to the convenient engagement features such as push notifications and simple Social Media integration. These aspects, and many more, will help developers stay connected with their audience and provide up-to-date information while increasing brand awareness and social exposure.
